Trojans dominate Warriors in Tuesday’s game
The varsity baseball team gained a victory on Mar. 27 against the Magna Vista Warriors, winning 10-0, via slaughter rule. Held at the Jack Bryant Field, the game gave an easy win to the Trojans. The game began with sophomore Grant Elliot scoring a triple to left field with an error at third base.
Junior Seth Bonar hit a pitch with a RBI, making the game 8-0. Then, senior Tyler Jarrett made a RBI in the first inning. In the second inning, senior Cam Rigney hit a double to center field, with senior Reese McQuaid hitting a single RBI. Afterwards, senior Hunter Scearce pinched hit for fellow senior Jackson Clark in the bottom of the fifth inning, making the game 10-0.
At the bottom of the sixth inning, Cam Rigney hit a double to left field gap, allowing Jarrett to end the game, 10-0 via slaughter rule.
“I was just happy to get some runs against Magna Vista. They’re a tight team. I’m honestly just glad we were able to get a win,” said Coach Barry Shelton.
The Trojans will face the Halifax Comets Thursday, March 29, away at Halifax.
