Scrunchies making a comeback
Trends come and go. Some trends stay around longer than others. Recently, trends from the ‘80’s have been making their re-entry into the world. Scrunchies are one of those trends.
The scrunchie was a popular fashion accessory during the ‘80’s and ‘90’s. Look at any music video or movie from the ‘80’s or ‘90’s, and you’ll notice the “leading lady” always has a scrunchie located somewhere on her. Now, 20 years later, it has had a major comeback.
Walking down the hallways, it’s not hard to spot a scrunchie resting on someone’s wrist or in someone’s hair. Scrunchies, it seems, are dominating the world of fashion for teenage girls.
Personally, it’s hard for me to leave my house without putting a scrunchie on my wrist, even if I don’t put it in my hair during the day. It is a nice security to know I have a hair accessory nearby if my hair gets out of control. Also, scrunchies feel better than regular hair bows. They come in many colors and sizes, too. Scrunchies are much more comfortable in my hair than the regular hair ties that rip ⅔ of my hair out every time I undo my ponytail.
Scrunchies also complement several outfits. They work well if you want to dress up your outfit or if you’re feeling like wearing a T-shirt, sweatpants, and sneakers.
So, thank you, Rommy Revson (creator of the scrunchie), for these cute, fun, comfortable, and fashionable hair accessories.
