“A Quiet Place” receives roaring reviews

A Quiet Place was released in theaters on April 6. This film is rated PG-13 and runs for an hour and 35 minutes. A Quiet Place was directed by John Krasinski, who also starred in the film as the father of the family. Other actors in this filmed included Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, and Noah Jupe.

The movie takes place in the year 2020 on the Abbott family farm, where they are trying to survive. The characters of Lee (father), Evelyn (mother), Reagan (daughter), and Marcus (son), must stay quiet in order to keep away the monsters who have hyperintense hearing. The monsters are blind and can hear almost any noise one makes from miles away. The monsters move fast and as the movie goes on, the family must try and figure out the monsters’ weaknesses in order to defeat them.

I was a little apprehensive about going to see this film because one, I’m not a huge fan of scary movies, and two, I did not want to be sitting in a silent theater for an hour and a half.

A Quiet Place is never completely quiet. There are a few scenes where there is complete silence, such as the beginning which sets the mood for the movie. The movie is also silent when it is being portrayed through the character of Reagan, who is deaf.

This film never makes you bored. You are always sitting on the edge of your seat. A Quiet Place is not only scary, but it also has some very emotional scenes that will tug on your heart strings.

A Quiet Place was given a 95% on rotten tomatoes (which is really good rating). Krasinski’s directing and acting was phenomenal, and complimented the other actors unbelievable performance.

If you aren’t super into scary movies, this would be a good one to try out. A Quiet Place is scary (I was literally so stressed the entire movie) , but it isn’t so scary to the point where you can’t fall asleep at night.

I give A Quiet Place a 10/10. I will definitely be watching it again when it is released.
