Eagles soar above Trojans
The Tunstall varsity boys soccer team played against the George Washington Eagles, losing 0-3 on Tuesday April 17. The game was intense in the last half and had all fans on the edge of their seats as both teams kept gaining possession of the ball.
The Trojans started off with a strong defense and even stronger offense, but the Eagles came to win. Unfortunately, the Trojans managed to score a goal for the Eagles in the first half. Finishing off the first half 0-2, with the Eagles in the lead.
It was a hapless night for the Trojans, with senior Zach Webster having to leave the field early due to a leg injury and senior Gage McKenna receiving a yellow card.
Junior Coleman Fields scored a goal for the Trojans, but unfortunately, it was called a hand ball. This left the Eagles leading by three goals. Fields stated he “could have scored more goals, but the Eagles defense was too strong.”
The Trojans’ next game will be at Bassett High School on Friday, April 20 at 7 p.m.
