Highlighting fashion choices that impressed THS faculty

Finding the right dress or suit often consumes students’ time and money when preparing for prom. Whether students shopped local or went out of town to find the right attire, those who attended prom can agree that fellow Trojans (and their dates) looked great. The following opinions are from teachers on looks that really stood out to them or were their favorites.

Mrs. Harris loved junior Nia Green’s dress, calling the blue dress “absolutely gorgeous.”

Mrs. Tara Mills liked Green’s dress, as well, and said she loved the bottom of it.

Mills also commented on senior Jordan Sergeant’s dress.

“It was just gorgeous and it fit her perfectly,” said Mills.

Junior Tyree Weaver’s outfit was another one that impressed Harris.

“It was just something about that red,” she said.

Mrs. Shannon Calloway, who organized prom along with Mrs. Tanya Jones, remarked on senior Sidney Foster’s dress calling it “just amazing.”

“She looked beautiful. The color of her dress was a vivid red,” said Jones.

Mrs. Tammy Shelton described Foster’s dress as “stunning” and “gorgeous.”

In addition to Foster, Calloway also thought senior Grace Touchstone’s dress looked great.

Another student whose look got a lot of positive feedback was junior Joce Covington.

“He wore a polka dot vest and ankle pants, which was unique and suited him well,” said Mrs. Tammy Shelton.

Shelton also appreciated Covington’s bold outfit and Sgt. Major Royal did too.

“I stopped him [Joce] in the parking lot because all that blue caught my eye,” he said.

Mrs. Kristen Williams was pleased with how two-piece dresses were worn.

“I think Tunstall High School students executed their two-piece styles very tastefully, and [senior] Anna Catherine Kueng was killing it,” said Williams.

Mrs. Laura Brown liked senior Jalen Moore’s vintage look and the black and white pattern, makeup, and “vintage feel” from Moore and his date,  junior Holland Dalton.

On the other hand, senior Tyler Jarrett went with a more traditional look and received positive feedback from Sonya Stowe.

“He wore a classic tux, and I think the traditional tux was a good choice,” she said.

Sonya Stowe also liked senior Bree Jones’ dress.

“I thought her dress was pretty especially the train. I thought the way her hair was fixed looked pretty with her dress choice,” said Sonya Stowe.

Mrs. Jennifer Watson liked junior Sydney Edwards’ dress and said it really “fit her personality.”

Another teacher, who wished to remain anonymous, said junior Emily Purnell’s dress was her favorite and she “fell in love with it.”

Mrs. Linda Yeatts could not decide on a favorite and said she was pleased overall.

“I was impressed at how elegant everyone looked and how every girl looked liked a beautiful flower in a flower garden, coming together to create a wonderful sight,” said Yeatts.
