Drama department brings the Bard
On April 10, 11, and 12, Tunstall’s theater brings this year’s play: The Complete Works of William Shakespeare: Abridged, Revised. General admission is $7, while the cost is $5 for students and seniors. Each performance will begin at 7:00 pm.
The audience can expect many comical Shakespeare references. To grasp the full experience of the play, some knowledge of Shakespeare will be helpful, but is not necessary.
The second act carries great weight on audience participation. “A large section of the play is devoted to audience participation. If we don’t have a high energy audience, that could end badly,” said senior Jacob Elliot, playing the lead role of Romeo.
Due to weather conditions, rehearsals were limited. Over Spring Break, the theater held a rehearsal only once because of driving conditions. “Enough days were missed to feel it, but we still feel prepared,” said Mrs. Williams.
Additional cast members include Trey Dallas, Trevor Mensavage, Dwight Tate, Maddie Hughes, Rachel Hayes, Caitlyn Owens, Katie Barker, Dayanna Pritchett, and Allison Turner.
The theater expects The Complete Works of William Shakespeare: Abridged, Revised to be a success and to spark an interest in both literature and live theater.
