The Trojan Pack celebrates after bringing in two runs.

On Tuesday, May 8th, varsity baseball gained a victory on their senior night. The Trojans hosted the Patrick County Cougars and had success with a final score of 10-1. The Trojan baseball team is now 16-2 for the season.

The game started and ended with senior Will Davis as starting pitcher.

“I went out there and threw as hard as I could, for as long as I could,” said Davis.

In the second inning, Patrick County hit a home run, making the score 0-1. With the Cougars now in the lead, the Trojans were determined to catch up.

To stop the Cougars, senior Grayson Elliot caught a ball hit to him in centerfield. He then threw it to senior Tyler Jarrett at first base to stop any runs.

“As a group of seniors, we couldn’t of asked for a better night. We all played well and truly have became a family this year,” said Jarrett.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, senior Conner Weaver brought in junior Josh White with a RBI single.

The Patrick County Cougars, after last night’s defeat by Tunstall, are now 11-7.  The Trojans will be moving on to districts starting May 14th. The location is still to be determined.
