The results of the Spring 2014 Art Exhibit
Both the Art and Drama departments were busy April 11 and 12 displaying their student’s talents, with the art department putting on an art show at 6 PM, and the school play, The Complete Works of William Shakespeare: Abridged, Revised, beginning at 7 PM.
The art exhibition also doubled as an art competition. Students were judged in groups according to class level (Art I, Art II, etc.) and medium/dimension of work, but due to lack of students to fulfill the Art III and IV levels separately, these students were judged together rather than being judged as separate levels.
In the category of 2-Dimensional work for Art I, 1st place was presented to David Hairston for his work entitled Shades of a Can, 2nd place was awarded to Sarah Johnson for her untitled work, while 3rd went to Erica Watson for her work entitled 1 Way Street.
In the category of 2-Dimensional work for Art II, 1st place was awarded to Cassady Davis for La Tour Eiffel, 2nd place was given to Morgan Scearce for Circus, with Michael Brown placing in 3rd for his piece Diversity Comes Out.
In the category of 2-Dimensional work for Art III and IV, 1st place was awarded to Ryan Webb for his untitled work, 2nd place was presented to Kristin Landrum for Silence is Golden, while 3rd place went to Sierra Bates for Peace of Mind.
In the category of 3-Dimensional work for Art I, 1st place was awarded to Myia Venable for Mask, 2nd place was given to Monica Manzana for her untitled work, with David Hairston placing in 3rd for Distant Apocalypse.
In the category of 3-Dimensional work for Art II, 1st place was awarded to Abby Shelton for her work titled Psychedelic, 2nd was presented to Cassady Davis for her piece The Things Ted Lavender Carried, while 3rd place went to Emily Hazelwood for her work, Inspiratem.
