Heading to the irrigation station with T-Squared
About two years ago, an idea turned into a plan that soon turned into a reality. Mr. Daniel Tittiris’ company, T-Squared, is an irrigation company that specializes in sprinkler system installation, service, and repair.
While managing to balance teaching, and T-Squared, he is also a father to two girls, Emma and Annsley. “The hardest thing about starting a business is the amount of time I have to spend away from my family,” said Tittiris. There have been days that he has left the house at 5:30am to start a project before sunrise, just to get home after dark after working all day. He has his girls in mind, though.
“I would like to be able to pay for both my daughters’ college education without them having to take out student loans so they can both graduate debt free.”
“The goal of my business is to meet the irrigation and drainage needs of my customers,” said Tittiris. Naturally enjoying problem solving, with his business he is allowed to solve problems dealing with the installation and repair of drains and sprinkler systems.
“I am a perfectionist by nature, and I am never satisfied until a job is done to my complete satisfaction,” said Tittiris.
The background of the name for T-Squared is incredibly clever. The three part backstory starts with the friendship of Mr. Tittiris and co-worker Mr. David Thaxton. “T-Squared stands for Tittiris-Thaxton, even though I am the sole proprietor of the business. Mr. Thaxton encouraged me to put the business in my name as a sole proprietor because that is the easiest way to start a business, and he already had his own landscaping business.”
The two math teachers worked together to solve the naming process of the company.
“T-Squared also references the fact that we are both math teachers who focus on maximizing the success of our students. I could have chosen 2T Irrigation as a business name but squaring is a much more powerful operation than adding or multiplying.”
The third part of the name combines the worlds of both math and sprinklers.
“The path of a sprinkler rotor can be modeled by a quadratic function and the parent function of a quadratic is given by t=t2 , so I thought it only fitting for my business to be called T-Squared.”
Mr. Thaxton is also a help to Tittiris on the occasional job. “Mr. Thaxton is one of my best friends, and he has been a great help to me throughout this whole process.”
The duo enjoys spending time together whether it’s in school, working outside of school, or just simply hanging out.
“I do not consider Mr. Thaxton to merely be a fellow colleague or just another person I work with; he is part of my Tunstall Trojan Family.”

This is the cutest thing I have ever read. Excuse me while I cry of joy for my two favorite math teachers ever.
