First semester leaves its mark
The first semester was full of many exciting sports stories.
Coach Brown’s retirement
A big impact on our school is the retirement of the football coach. Coach Brown helped shape the football team for 28 years. Brown led the Trojans to thirteen playoffs, four district championships, two regional championships and a regional championship.
Caleb Ashworth
Tunstall’s defensive end Caleb Ashworth has been named the Danville Register & Bee Defensive Player of the Year and Group 3A All State first football team. Ashworth has committed to play at the University of Cincinnati this upcoming fall.
Varsity football
The varsity football team finished their season with a 7-4 winning record and made it to the playoffs. The Trojans lost to MontiCello 48-35 in the first round of the playoffs.
Chandler Wilkins
Tunstall’s golf star Chandler Wilkins was selected to play at the Nature Valley first tee open three days competition at the Pebble Beach golf club in California. Wilkins stated that he hopes to play in the Professional Golf Association or PGA. He was also a member of the Trojan’s State Championship team from the 2013-2014 season.
Girls varsity basketball
The girls varsity basketball team gave their full effort to win the first game they have won in three years. They defeated Heritage on December 2 with a final score of 53-38, on the Trojans home court.
