Outfit trends are always changing and evolving. Every day at THS a variety of styles enter the building. Many new outfit designs, accessories, and pieces are at the height of popularity right now.
Here is an update on what is trending:
Comfortable Shirts
Oversized graphic t-shirts are a staple in a cute, yet easy outfit. A few popular places to purchase these are Target and American Eagle. “I wear graphic t-shirts when it gets hot outside, plus I like to wear them to sleep,” junior Abigail Browning said. Browning agrees that they go well with jeans, shorts, leggings, and so much more. Another comfortable staple are athletic shirts such as the align tank from Lululemon. These simple shirts are easy to accessorize for any event with jewelry, hair accessories, or a fun bag.
Versatile Pants
An easy way to create a comfortable or classy outfit is to wear wide leg jeans. Some favorite stores that sell wide leg jeans are Zara, H&M, and American Eagle. Students find that wide leg jeans look really cute with a simple shirt and some sneakers. “Wide leg pants go with any outfit, that’s why I wear them all the time,” senior Raj Kumar said. Another comfortable and popular type of pants are flare leggings. Flare leggings are extremely easy to wear for any season. They are also easy to dress up or dress down. Aerie is a well-known brand that sells flare leggings in all different styles and colors. These leggings go well with a hoodie, a sweater, or a really nice shirt.
Platform Shoes
Platform shoes are extremely popular in 2023. The most fashionable styles are from brands such as Converse and Ugg. “Platforms give you the height of wearing heels, without actually having to wear heels. They are much more comfortable,” senior Hannah Zickafoose said. Converse platforms are very trendy and go well with casual and classy outfits. Ugg platforms are a staple in a lazy, yet fashion forward outfit. Both of these platforms can be accessorized with super cute socks or white Nike socks.
Hair Accessories
A new hair trend is bulky headbands. Headbands come in many different colors, patterns, and materials. Some bulky headbands have embellishments such as pearls, jewels, or lace. These accessories can elevate a basic outfit. “I love to create outfits based around my headbands,” senior Grace Wann said. Wann agrees that an embellished headband looks fashionable with jeans, a solid colored t-shirt, and sneakers. For a more elegant look, these headbands go great with a simple dress and sandals.
Athletic Skirts
A super cute, trendy, and comfortable addition to an outfit is an athletic skirt. These skirts have shorts underneath, which make them really secure, snug, and easy to wear. “They are super cute and super comfy, especially because of the shorts,” senior Emilie Merricks said. Athletic skirts come in all different colors and styles. Lululemon is a very well-known company that sells a variety of athletic skirts in fitted and flowy designs.
Floral Dresses
Dresses with a floral design are becoming more and more fashionable. Students find that a floral design can add a more chic look to a basic dress. “Floral dresses are so pretty and so versatile for any event,” senior Kieran Gilbert said. To elevate these dresses even more, pair them with
some jewelry and heels. This design of dress can be found in many stores such as Altar’d State and Francesca’s. Floral dresses can be worn for any occasion such as a wedding, birthday party, or nice dinner.
People are always updating their closets with the current styles, trends, and designs. Popular stores are constantly creating new products in order to continuously change what we consider fashionable. Students cannot wait to see what other styles enter THS!
