With the start of every school year, new class officers are elected to represent each grade. Class officers play an important role in representing their class and helping improve THS and its environment. They advocate for their class and school, by encouraging school spirit and positivity each day.
Representing the freshman class is Maribela Jaimes as president. Kenley Barbour is also representing the freshman class as vice president. Jaimes is very excited to have been elected as the president and to have a leadership role. She hopes to improve school spirit and get everyone involved in school events. She is passionate about making sure students are heard and happy with any changes or improvements.
Representing the sophomore class is Cherish Adkins and Marco Pineda. After Adkins won president, she hopes to expand her horizons and show people she cares about making a difference. ”You need someone who’s willing to work nonstop to make [students] happy,” Adkins said. She hopes to develop better student relationships and encourage students to be more accepting and friendly to each other. Pineda, the vice president, is also excited to be a part of making the environment at school better. He is dedicated to representing the sophomore class and making sure everyone’s opinions are acknowledged.
Representing the junior class is Denver Dalton as president and Kernice Smith as vice president. This is Dalton’s second year serving as his class’ president and he is very happy to have this honor. “It feels good knowing the class of 2025 enjoys having me as president for a second year,” Dalton said. He enjoys helping his class and the student body improve. Kernice Smith, who is the vice president, is also honored to play an important role for her class. She hopes to motivate students to get more involved in both sports and academics. Smith is committed to making this school year the best for the junior class.
Representing the senior class is Kelsey Hyler as president and Aubree Moore as vice president. Hyler is excited to be more involved and change the school environment to make it a positive place that students will want to be every day. She is excited to have an opportunity for a leadership role and to be a representative for her class. Moore also wants to get more involved and encourage a better daily environment at THS. She is devoted to making sure each student’s viewpoint is known and acknowledged.
Every class officer’s goals are similar because they are committed to making THS a better and more positive environment where everyone is seen and heard. With this team of representatives, the school will be an overall better place for students. This school year is going to be a great experience for every class!
