Senior Isabella White is a student here at THS. She attends Governor’s school and has straight A’s. On top of that, she is very dedicated to church and helping out in her community. White is also a setter on the Lady Trojans varsity volleyball team.
This is her third season on the team. Leading up to the big game against Gretna on August 22nd, “I was feeling nervous and somewhat emotional to be starting my last season,” White said.
During the first set of their game, White earned her 1,000th assist. An assist is when a setter receives a pass, sets up their hitter, and no one on the opposing team can receive the hit. “Being a setter is a big role,” White said. This is true because setters control the offensive line, which allows the team to earn points. White was very excited to earn her 1,000th assist.
After the game she was greeted by her church family and her old teammates: Gaby Elliot, Leara Slattery, and Emma Howell. She also received many gifts including a water bottle from her former coach, Coach C.
White is an example of a great role model on and off the volleyball court. We can’t wait to see what else she has to offer this season with her incredible potential.
