Recently, between girls there’s been a hot topic about wearing gold or silver jewelry. Most girls are either one or the other. Cool undertones of skin typically fare better with silver, whereas gold pieces look gorgeous with warm undertones. Gold jewelry may make someone with a cool undertone appear extremely pale. Three girls, including myself, gave their input on which type of jewelry they wear.
I like gold jewelry because I think it compliments my skin tone the best. I have more of a warmer undertone in my skin, which tends to look more classy on me. Although I like gold better, I do wear silver rings on some occasions. However, I think I will forever be a “gold girly.”
Senior Grace Wann, a stylish teen at THS, says that she is also a golden girl. “Gold jewelry is my go-to for everything, but for some weird reason I only wear silver rings. The reason why I choose gold over silver is because I feel like it matches my complexion best,” Wann states. Wann usually never changes her mind but with some occasions she matches her jewelry with her outfit, so it pretty much depends on the circumstances.
Emilie Merricks, another beautiful senior at THS, says that she is a silver lover. “I prefer silver but I base my jewelry on which looks better with the outfit I am wearing,” Merricks says. Merricks says that for lighter colors she prefers silver, but with darker colors she tends to wear gold.
Jewelry tends to always spice up any outfit. Most girls are very versatile with their jewelry choices, but some are definite about their decisions. Confidence is key when it comes to wearing accessories, and I think both colors look great on everyone.
