The debate over whether cats or dogs are better has gone on for a very long time. The basic preference of the two pets is something very simple but also very complex. Let us see which of these two animals the students of THS prefer more.
People who prefer cats are said to have certain characteristics compared to those who prefer dogs. Some of those characteristics consist of curiosity and creativity. They are also said to be more introverted than dog people. Cat lovers tend to be more calm and “laid back” in contrast to dog people.
“I am a very passionate cat person. In my opinion, cats are more loving than dogs. They also have more of a personality than dogs,” senior Savannah Bates said. Cat lovers tend to be more passionate about their love for the animal. This heartfelt connection causes them to be perceived as more emotional and sensitive. These characteristics are a perfect match for their lazy feline companions.
Students said that cats are an easier pet to take care of. “All cats do are eat, sleep, and use the litter box. Even cleaning their litter box is not difficult to do,” senior Raj Kumar said. These felines do not need to be taken outside to be walked or to use the restroom.
On the other hand, there are the friendly pets: dogs. I personally like dogs more than cats. Dog lovers tend to be characterized as extroverted, outgoing, and active. These pets have a little bit more maintenance than cats which includes going on walks, using the restroom outside, exercising through playtime, and lots of grooming. Even with all of the extra activities that have to be done, there are still positives to owning a dog.
“I love my three dogs named Fergie, Ashton, and Ridley,” senior Christian Chiles said. Since dogs are so active, it ensures that their owner stays active as well. They also provide their owner with a fun and friendly companion.
“I personally find that owning a dog is super fun and very enjoyable. I love taking my dog, Poppie, wherever I go. I also have a cat named Ricky Bobby, but he likes to lay around at home,” senior Kieran Gilbert said.
There are people who love cats and there are people who love dogs. Dogs and cats are very different, and they reflect our personalities. This preference of pet is a very heartfelt topic that is felt very deeply by owners.
