As it is now fall, the fashion trends are transitioning from summer clothes to fall clothes. The clothes trending during fall are always popular for warmth or style.
Tops
One very popular fashion trend during fall is sweaters. Everyone wears sweaters throughout fall because they provide warmth but are still cute and trendy. Most people will buy their sweaters from Marshalls or Aerie/American Eagle. Sweaters are a great way to be colorful or keep your outfits neutral.
Another popular option for teenagers are crewnecks and hoodies. “I wear crew necks because they are very comfortable and fashionable for colder weather,” sophomore Lauren Gauldin said. Crewnecks have gotten popular because many high schools and colleges have crewnecks or hoodies for students or fans to wear.
Quarter-zips are a very popular option for students at THS. They are a mix between a crewneck and jacket. They are called quarter-zips because the zipper is about a quarter of the length of the front of the quarter-zip.
One popular trend during fall are vests and sweater vests. While it’s not always super cold during fall, it’s still cold enough that a vest is a great option to keep you warm while looking fashionable. Many girls at THS wear sweater vests and sophomore Katelyn Brooks is one of them. “I wear sweater vests because they are comfy and there are so many different colors and prints,” Brooks said. Puffer vests are another type of vest that is super popular during fall.
Bottoms
Jeans are very popular for any time of the year but especially fall. Jeans are great to wear because you can either dress them up or dress them down. Jeans are very popular at THS and you can find students wearing many different styles.
Skirts are popular for when people dress up for something during the fall. People will pair a cute neutral skirt with a chunky white sweater. Skirts are really popular for Thanksgiving. Many people will wear these to be more formal but still be warm.
Flare leggings are very popular for high schoolers. People will wear them to school or to sports such as dance. Flare leggings are popular for fall because they are really comfortable. Most people buy flare leggings from Aerie or Lululemon.
Shoes
One very common shoe for fall are Uggs. Many people wear Ugg slippers to school because they provide comfort. “They are stylish and comfortable for fall,” sophomore Kaitlyn Gregory said. Other people will wear the Ugg booties. All Uggs have a soft fur like material on the inside that makes them great for colder weather.
Birkenstock Clogs are another popular shoe to wear in the fall. People love these because they are easy to slip on but also cute. They are a great alternative to wanting to wear sandals during colder weather.
Converse are another popular option for every season because they are so versatile. You can’t walk around THS without seeing at least a few people wearing them. There are some people who will customize their converse online. They will pick different colors, styles, or prints. You can also customize them with letters many people do school letters to wear to different school events such as fall football games.
As you can see everyone wants comfort and style during the cold months of fall. We can’t wait to see what new fashion trends come about this fall!
