The Blind is a movie that tells the story of Phil and Kay Robertson. Many know the Robertson family from the familiar TV series Duck Dynasty. The Robertson family rose to fame from their series based on their family and their very popular company: Duck Commander.
Robertson was born and raised in Vivian, Louisiana. The movie goes to show how Robertson met his future wife and how he began to struggle with substance abuse and his internal battles. As he struggled, it caused Mrs. Robertson and their three children pain and heartache. When Robertson realized how deep his problem was, he told Mrs. Robertson to take the children and leave. So Mrs. Robertson took the children and stayed with Robertson’s sister Jan. Jan was a woman of faith and compassion who helped Mrs. Robertson in her darkest moments.
One day a stranger walked into Robertson’s bar and he just so happened to be a Christian man. When he began to approach Robertson, the stranger was soon shown the door. Robertson found himself in an unrelated bar brawl. After this event, Mrs. Robertson told him that he should go speak to the stranger he escorted out of his bar. The stranger then told Robertson about the Lord and his word. A few weeks later, Mrs. Robertson found a note left by Robertson that said he was at church. When Mrs. Robertson made it to the church, she walked into the auditorium and saw Robertson up in the baptistery. She heard Robertson say he wanted the Lord in his life.
I believe that The Blind is very inspirational to society and the people of America. It made me realize that everyone has value and is worth saving even in the darkest days of life. It was a very raw and honest story that was put on display for the world. It also shows how someone so sinful can still be saved and have their life turned upside down by Christ. So the next time you feel like watching a movie that puts you in all your feels, this is a great choice.
