There are so many possibilities of colors. They come in many different shades, tints, and hues. We tend to let colors dictate our feelings, or we choose colors that match our current moods. A lot of students and teenagers own LED lights in their bedrooms. These lights can be any color of your choosing. Even if we do not think about it, we associate these colors with certain feelings, emotions, and objects.
Red can be a very mysterious color. Some perceive red as a scary color when associated with anger, danger, and heat. Most of the students I spoke with do not prefer their LED lights to be red. This is because a lot of negative things are the color red and it can be a darker color. On the other hand, some perceive it as a color of love, power, and holidays. Holidays like Valentines Day feature red in hearts, love, and vibrance. This is a positive holiday for most to show appreciation for those you care about.
Juice, fruits, and the sun are all items in relation to the color orange. Orange is a fun, positive, and bright color. Most students whose favorite color is orange are outgoing and bold. Very few students keep their LED lights on this color, but more should! We associate this color with confidence, warmth, excitement, and happiness. As a combination of red and yellow, this color is vibrant. Those who enjoy this color tend to be vibrant as well.
Yellow is a bright and vivid color. This color reminds me of flowers, lemons, and pineapples. Yellow is usually associated with happiness, enthusiasm, joy, and optimism. A few students I spoke with enjoy their LED lights on yellow since it is bright, but not overwhelming. This color is very popular in spring and summer seasons with its relation to fruits and flowers. These items make a lot of people happy, including myself. I find it hard to be sad when looking at something yellow, especially yellow ducks!
There are some mixed feelings about the color green. In a positive way, green can be associated with plants, jewels, and frogs. These objects are all beautiful in their own way. I personally own a lot of green plants. Anytime I am shopping, it is hard to resist buying a plant since they make me happy. On the other hand, green may be a negative color to some. Not many students keep their LED lights on the color green due to how dark it can be. Green may be seen as “blah” due to its lack of vivid joy that other colors bring.
Rain, water, and the sky are all objects that I associate with the color blue. Blue is a very popular color, it is my favorite color along with a majority of other students. Majority of the students I spoke with keep their lights on blue. They do this since we associate this color with feelings such as calmness and relaxation. We also link the color blue with a cool or cold feeling. This color makes people feel peaceful and happy since we describe this color as positive and relaxing.
Purple is a beautiful combination of blue and red. It keeps the same calmness that blue has but brings the vibranceness of red. I associate purple with lavender, amethyst, and grapes. A few students keep their LED lights on the color purple since it is a dark yet “chill” color. This color is calming, peaceful, and relaxing. It is a color of confidence without standing out like other colors.
Pink is another favorite color of mine. Some students also enjoy making their LED lights this color in their room since it is brighter. As a lighter shade of red, pink is a color of passion. It is a positive color that reminds us of flowers, fruit, and some animals like pigs and flamingos. When I buy items in the color pink, I am automatically happy.
The different colors of the rainbow bring us so many different emotions and feelings. We use colors to remind us of certain objects and associations. We even base our LED light color on our moods and feelings, with blue and pink being the most popular. All of these colors can be more captivating than we think.
