Some may say that water does not have a taste, but others disagree. All water brands have different purification processes, which makes them taste different. “[Water] can taste like minerals, metallic like, or salty. There are many different flavors,” sophomore Noah Williams said. Choosing the right water is important and a different process for each person. Having water that you enjoy drinking will help you stay more hydrated. Some of the main water brands include Fiji, Dasani, Aquafina, Core, Deer Park, Life Water, and Le Bleu.
Fiji is one of the most popular brands of water. It comes in a square bottle and the color looks like a sea blue due to the wrapping around it. This brand can be more expensive but has better quality than others. “Fiji is my favorite. It is expensive but [is] very good tasting water,” Williams said.
Life Water is also an expensive brand but good quality. It comes in a tall, round bottle with a sunrise pictured on the front wrapping. “Life water is the best because it is extra purified, the bottle is pretty, and it makes me feel good,” sophomore Miranda Smallwood said.
Dasani is a brand that is more common in stores and less expensive. However, the taste of this water is not very popular. Some claim that this water has a metallic or salty taste. “If they had a cuter bottle then it would taste better,” sophomore Lauren Gauldin said.
Aquafina is a brand similar to Dasani. It can come in many different bottles, but the most common is the plastic packs you can get at a grocery store. Many say it tastes better than other cheaper water brands. “[Aquafina] has more of a cripsier taste than Dasani,” Gauldin said.
Deer Park is a cheaper brand and is most common when getting bulks of water at a time. It comes in a regular plastic bottle with a deer and sunset on the wrapping. This water may not have the most high quality taste but is good when in a hurry. “[Deer Park] is something you would get for a day at the lake,” Smallwood said.
Core and Le Bleu water are two more expensive brands that someone could buy. Core water comes in a tall, blue bottle with the word core written down the side. Le Bleu can come in many different types of bottles and is not very common in stores. Many say that the Core water bottles are very pretty and taste nice because of it. “Le Bleu is my favorite because it is like rich people’s water and it is fresh,” Gauldin said.
When having a good bottle of water, it is easy to tell the difference between the good and bad ones. Choosing the right bottle and taste will help you in the long run.
