Kelly Burton is one of the biggest personalities that works at THS. She is relatively new to the school as she has only worked here for a few years. Aside from being a science teacher, she has invested a lot of time towards her students and fellow co-workers. 

She previously taught at Westover Christian Academy. Since moving to Tunstall, she has taken on many roles. She is the FCA sponsor as well as a FOR Club sponsor. “When I left Westover Christian Academy, I knew I wanted to still have a way to talk to students about the gospel. FCA provides the perfect opportunity for me to watch students lead other students with scripture and to mentor and pray with students who ask,” Burton said. FCA has grown to be a very popular club since Mrs. Burton started it just a few years ago. The club meets on Thursdays after school, and the meetings usually last no more than an hour. 

“FCA has brought students together weekly to listen to scripture and hear a small devotion. THS students, local youth pastors, and coaches are scheduled throughout the year to lead these devotions. It gives us a chance to hear about Jesus and what he has done for all of us. FCA promotes unity, and it steers athletes to realize that they are part of a much greater purpose than the sport they play,” she continued. Kelly Burton is very passionate about FCA and its role in the school. 

She really enjoys the atmosphere of Tunstall. “I enjoy working at THS, first because of the great students, second because of the great staff. It’s a great community,” she said. 

If you know Mrs. Kelly Burton, you know that she takes pride in all of her roles at THS. She certainly adds a lot of character to the science hall in the best way possible. She expressed that she is very grateful for the bonds that she has formed since moving to THS.
