As October comes around the fall season begins, which also means Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is a fall favorite for most people, especially the food. The holiday allows us to have a country style meal each year, but other people would rather have chicken tenders and fries instead of the traditional Thanksgiving food.
THS students share their favorite and “unfavorite” foods during the holiday. Sophomore Mary Ferguson loves Thanksgiving. “I rate it a 10 out of 10 because I get to eat and spend time with my family,” Ferguson said. Ferguson’s family cooks a full on meal for the holiday. “My favorite is the mac and cheese because my aunt makes it sooo good,” Ferguson said. Even though Mary enjoys the food for Thanksgiving, she does have some dislikes. “My least favorite is definitely pig feet because it stinks,” Ferguson said.
Now other people can eat anything that’s on the table, senior Trent Coleman will eat anything but he would rather have ham over turkey. Coleman has multiple favorites and couldn’t choose one. “My favorite is always the mac and cheese and the honey smoked ham,” Coleman said.“I love the sweet potato pie, best thing ‘evaaa’,” Coleman said.
Personally, I love Thanksgiving and the food, but I would much rather have a spicy chicken sandwich from Chick-fil-a. Overall I am a very picky person when it comes to weird textures and even the way some food looks. Especially ham, casseroles, pies, beans, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and others. I truly don’t understand how anyone can eat crunchy and soft food in one form, but I will stick to my regular turkey, mash potatoes (with gravy), green beans, mac and cheese, and rolls.
Everyone at THS has their own personal opinion that varies from ordinary combinations. Some people could eat Thanksgiving food their whole life and others would rather have fast food, but no matter what your opinion is on certain foods, I’m sure you will leave the table full!
