Being kind is one of the most important traits to have. Being nice to someone could make their day and potentially make them a better person. There are plenty of kind people at THS, but there are some that go over and beyond to be kind to others.
Juniors Anna Inman and Parker Sinclair are two great examples of kindness. Inman and Sinclair are best friends, and they are some of the sweetest people you’ll ever meet. “Being kind makes other people feel good,” Inman explained. Her favorite way to be kind to others is to help when someone might be struggling with something. “You never know what someone is going through,”
“You can really turn their day around by being nice,” Sinclair said. Her favorite way to show kindness is to smile at students in the halls whenever she gets the chance. Both Inman and Sinclair feel like their good deeds are returned to them when they see that their kindness is helping their peers to feel better.
Being kind comes naturally to sophomore Avalyn Emerson, and she frequently shows it. “I show kindness by including people and complimenting them and their personality,” Emerson said. She thinks that talking to people when they look sad, and trying to cheer them up is one of her favorite ways to show kindness. Being kind makes people feel good, and Emerson loves to make people’s days by being thoughtful toward them. “I am kind because it’s what Jesus would do, he would be kind,” Emerson explains. Emerson thinks that most of her thoughtful actions are returned to her. “When I compliment someone, most of the time they compliment me back,” Emerson said.
Senior Jacob Oswald is the ultimate embodiment of kindness. He shows kindness to anybody and everybody that comes his way. “I wave at people with a smile,” Oswald said. You can always count on him to ask about your day, compliment an outfit, or simply just smile and wave. He undoubtedly makes peoples’ days better, and students look for him in the halls just to greet him. He believes that his caring words are returned back to him when his hallway buddies share conversations with him.
Freshman Jacob Testerman is an outstandingly kind person. “I like to hold the door for people and talk to people when they seem lonely,” Testerman said. He often expresses these actions, and he hopes that they have an excellent impact on others. He strives to show kindness to others to make sure they have a good day and for them to know that they have a friend to look to at all times. His kind and thoughtful deeds do not go unnoticed by anyone. “I have a lot of friends because I’m kind to everyone,” Testerman explained, “sometimes they return the favor by holding the door for me.”
Kindness is not a rare commodity at THS and is shown to anyone and everyone. These students are just some of the many caring people walking the halls. When students are looking for someone they can talk to or a person that will make them smile, these students are the ones to get the job done.
