The Friends of Rachel club, also known as the F.O.R club, has started at THS. The club started after Rachel’s Challenge was presented to the Trojan students. The F.O.R club’s main goal is to spread kindness and positivity around the school and the community.
The F.O.R club’s main sponsor is English teacher Laura Gunn. Gunn stated that she took the club on by choice. “When Mr. Boles started talking about the club and what they were going to do, I said, ‘I want to do that’,” Gunn said.
Gunn said the club’s first task will be to fundraise. “We need to fundraise to be able to do the activities that we want to do,” Gunn said.
The F.O.R club is hoping to get more involved with the community this year. They are hoping to go out and talk to the fourth and fifth graders in the elementary schools. They believe that by doing this, the younger kids will be influenced to be kind and spread positivity.
The F.O.R club meets on Wednesdays in Mrs. Gunns classroom.
