Earlier this month I wrote an article titled “What will we see this Halloween.” It definitely became one of my favorite articles that I ever wrote. Halloween has now passed and we saw many costumes. Some were good, and some I wish I could erase from my memory.
Before I start discussing if my predictions were right, I want to give some honorable mentions. I saw a lot of Lorax costumes this year, and they were all amazing. As an avid reality television watcher, I enjoyed seeing the Dance Moms costumes.
Now let’s see if I was right.
Barbie:
I saw so many Barbies this year. It felt like I had been transported to Barbie Land in real life. As I predicted, Barbie’s cowgirl and roller skating outfits were the most popular. I think we should now be allowed to declare Margot Robbie the queen of Halloween costumes because she has made two of the most popular costumes over the years, Harley Quinn and Barbie. Thanks to some lovely TikTokers, I did get to see President Barbie and Allan.
Taylor Swift:
Good news for all my fellow Swifties. Taylor Swift was one of the most searched costumes this year. Most of the costumes had something to do with her recent rerecording of her 2014 album 1989. Many people dressed up as her in different eras. Instagram Swifties made sure to dress up as her and her new boo, Travis Kelce.
Mario:
Princess Peach made the top 15 most searched Halloween costumes this year, which is a win for us Anya Taylor Joy fans. Mario and Luigi were still very popular this year. I am a little upset that I did not see any Bowser costumes. Jack Black would be disappointed.
Ariel:
Thanks to the Instagram stories of the lovely Hallie Bailey, I saw many Ariel costumes. Most of them were little girls, and they were so adorable. If I still dressed up for Halloween I would definitely be the Little Mermaid.
Witches:
These costumes are popular every year and this year was no different. It seems that instead of regular witches this year, many people choose to dress as the witches from Hocus Pocus. I had no problems with this because I love that movie.
It is now November and this year’s spooky season is sadly over. I have seen Mariah Carey’s TikTok, and I know that we are now in the Christmas season. I hope everyone had an amazing Halloween and make sure to check out the Trojan Messenger’s other Halloween articles.
