There are only six months left of high school for the seniors here at THS. A good way for seniors to commemorate their time in high school, specifically their senior year, is to make a time capsule filled with items from big milestones and memories.
There are a variety of things you can include in your capsule, such as prom tickets, tickets from sporting events, graduation tassels, college acceptance letters, polaroids from moments throughout your senior year, and many more things. A special thing you can include is a letter addressed to your future self. You can reflect on your high school experiences, while also stating what you want your life to be like in the future. 10 years later, you can open the box and read the letter to see if the things you wanted to happen came true or not.
You can personalize the box you put everything in by painting and decorating it with fun and creative colors. Another great thing to include in your time capsule is letters addressed to you written by your teachers, family, and friends. They can talk about how proud they are of you and your accomplishments, while also talking about what they hope for you in the future. You can also create a collage that represents your senior year by gathering pictures together and cutting out different pictures and words from old magazines. Making a vision collage for what you want your life to look like in the future is also a good thing to include in your time capsule.
I will be making a senior capsule towards the end of my senior year. I have already started collecting things to put in my capsule. I love keeping and collecting small items that carry a lot of memories with them. That’s why I think making a senior capsule full of things from my high school memories is such a great idea. I will be painting and decorating a box which will include prom tickets, graduation tickets, polaroids from events like graduation, a letter to my future self, and many more of the things mentioned.
A high schooler’s senior year is a very sentimental time because it is their very last year of childhood before they enter college or the workforce. Making a senior time capsule is a good idea because it helps people cherish their high school memories and experiences more.
