The “Empire” strikes back
“Empire” has exploded on Fox. The new soap drama is about a family music recording business being ran by the father, Lucious Lyon (Terrence Howard). His ex-wife, Cookie Lyon (Taraji P. Henson) has returned for her part in the company, Empire.
Cookie and Lucious have three children together: Jamal, Andre, and Hakeem. Jamal (Jussie Smollett) is the singer/songwriter of the family and is criticized for being homosexual. Andre (Trai Byers) is the smart, savvy businessman of all the children. His bipolar disorder is very noticeable and his money-hungry wife, Rhonda Lyo (Kaitlin Doubleday) is trying to destroy the relationship of the family.
While all this chaos has came into the family, they are trying to stay together. This show has its issues and includes important messages in every episode. One message was Lucious Lyon was a homophobic of his own son, Jamal Lyon.
These messages make the viewers tune in for more because they want to see if he will ever change. If you’re into rough beats, tons of dancing, and an abundance of turmoil, “Empire” is for you. “Empire” originally broadcasted on January 7, 2015, and comes on Wednesday at 9:00.
