Every year at Tunstall High School, a homecoming pep rally is hosted to introduce the fall sports. The organizers of the pep rally love to get everyone involved. There’s a large amount of discussion about what the spirit days leading up to the pep rally should be.
Whether dressing up as a Christmas tree or being a super scary Halloween skeleton, the week should start with a day inspired by everyone’s favorite holiday! I assume everyone has a favorite holiday, so a spirit day like this will be super easy for anyone who wants to show off their favorite day. They can be really creative with the holiday that they dress up as because there are over 2,000 different holidays celebrated around the world. I know everyone here at Tunstall High will get super creative with this day if we were to do it!
On Tuesday the students should go all out with Meme Day. Here at Tunstall, there are a lot of unique students who would be thrilled to be able to dress up as a classic meme. I would hope to see the James Charles meme or the meme of the child with his ears poking out of his hoodie. Memes are what a lot of students here grew up on. An entertaining spirit day like this would bring back fun childhood memories. This spirit day has been brought up a lot in the past, so I hope that it will be a spirit day this year!
Here at THS, there are many sets of best friends or what I consider dynamic duos. What if Dynamic Duo Day was held on Wednesday so everyone could show off their friendships? I know that myself and many others would have a blast with this day because it gives everyone a reason to twin with their friend groups. I would love to see some people dress up as iconic duos from movies and TV shows, such as having a friend group dress up as the Scooby Doo cast. I think that a fun idea like this would really have all the dynamic duos excited!
Ever wanted to blast into the past? A Decades Day would be the perfect way to show off all the past decades. Students and teachers would love this because there are so many different decades to dress up for. I would dress up from the early 2000s because fashion is so interesting to me. Teachers can get involved with this and bring out some of their past fashion. If this were to be done, I know that everyone at Tunstall would show up and out with their favorite decade!
I know that there are many different opinions and hard work that go into our spirit days here at THS. I know that SCA is going to pick out the best spirit days for us, but I hope to see some of these in the future!
