On Tuesday, September 3rd, both the JV and Varsity Lady Trojans defeated the Dan River Lady Wildcats in their home games. The JV Lady Trojans won two out of the three sets, taking the first win against the Dan River team. The varsity team won three out of five sets, securing their win against the Lady Wildcats. Some player highlights include aces, kills, blocks, and digs.
JV Game
Great plays were made throughout the JV game. In the first set, the JV Lady Trojans had players that stood out against Dan River like Kenley Barbour and Kara Eastwood with their aces. There were also great hits and blocks from Kenley Barbour, Kara Eastwood, Sage Abercrombie, and Leah Blackwell. To add, Rylee Tune had some impressive digs on the back row. In the second set, the players that stood out were Gianna Reamey with aces, and Kara Eastwood and Kinslee Cassell with many blocks and kills. Leah Blackwell and Rylee Tune were also helpful on the back row.
Varsity Game
The Varsity Lady Trojan started the season off with a tough loss to the Gretna Lady Hawks, but they decided to push forward, working as hard as they could. As a result, the Lady Trojans beat the Dan River Lady Wildcats in the first three sets of the game. Some highlights from the first set were Colby Eastwood and Khamauri Mays with great aces, and Delaney West with great kills. Reagan Vickers also had many successful kills. The final score of this set was 25-18 – the win going to Tunstall. In the second set, there were some great digs. Adrey Stevens had several digs on the back row, along with Ainsley Henderson. On the front row, Carleigh Strader, Colby Eastwood, Delaney West, and Reagan Vickers all had impressive kills and blocks. The final score of this set was 25-16 – Tunstall, again, securing the win. In the final set, the Varsity Lady Trojans took the last win against the Varsity Lady Wildcats with the final score being 25-19.
Overall, the Tunstall Lady Trojans played very well against the Dan River Wildcats. They gave their fans an exciting game, with an even more exciting victory. The Lady Trojans hope to continue their success in upcoming games.
