Whether they are Disney, biopics, or horror films, these movies will hopefully bring in great revenue and bring great joy to their viewers.
Michael
Michael is an upcoming movie that is based on the life of the King of Pop, Michael Jackson. 28-year-old Jaafar Jackson, son of former Jackson 5 member Jermaine Jackson, will be playing the role of Michael. The American film director, Antoine Fuqua, will be directing this film. Some of his other works include all three movies of the Equalizer series, King Arthur, and Tears of the Sun. While Michael Jackson faced many difficulties with the law throughout his adult life, it has been suspected that these unfortunate events will not be included in the film. This movie will also feature actors Jessica Sula as La Toya Jackson, Miles Teller as young John Branca, and many others. Michael is due to be released on April 18, 2025.
Moana 2
Moana, the well-known and loved Disney film, is returning for a new chapter. Starring beloved actress Auliʻi Cravalho as Moana and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as Maui once again, Moana 2 will kick off its release on November 27, 2024 in theaters. Contrary to the first, the second film of this series will be directed by Dana Ledoux Miller, Jason Hand, and David Derrick Jr. This Disney motion picture is said to feature Moana as she sets out on a dangerous journey to an island to reconnect her people. Her old friend Maui will accompany her on this quest, and together, they will face many challenges. One of them, of course, being their old foe, the Kakamora tribe of coconuts.
Mufasa: The Lion King
The upcoming movie Mufasa: The Lion King will be a prequel to Disney’s original The Lion King series. The story is presented in flashbacks by Rafiki, a longtime friend of the royal family, and he tells the story of Mufasa’s childhood to Kiara, Mufasa’s granddaughter. During the film, the audience will learn about Mufasa’s upbringing and will be introduced to many new characters, including his adoptive parents. Voicing the role of Mufasa will be Aaron Pierre, and the director is Barry Jenkins. Mufasa: The Lion King is set to be released in theaters on the 20th of December 2024.
Smile 2
Smile 2 will be the sequel to 2022’s successful horror film, Smile. In this movie, viewers should expect to see returning characters such as Rose Cotter, played by Susie Bacon, and Joel, who is played by Kyle Gallner. New faces will be appearing on the big screen of Smile 2 such as Aladdin actress Naomi Scott. Drew Barrymore will also appear as herself in the film. The movie will feature a new character, Skye Riley, depicted by Naomi Scott, who is a young actress. She begins to experience inexplicable and terrifying events and must face her dark past to gain back control of her life.
Based on the overall success of their original movies and the estimated net worth of Michael Jackson, it can be concluded that Mufasa: The Lion King will overall be most successful. With the original 1994 movie’s revenue coming in at roughly 700 million dollars, it would not be a shock to fans of The Lion King for its sequel to have great success. Throughout the next few years, many movies are planned to be released across many different genres that will appeal to many kinds of audiences. Movie fans should expect nothing less than greatness from theaters in the near future.
