Linkin Park is an American rock band that originated in 1996 at Agoura Hills, California. The band ended in July 2017 with eight albums; their biggest success was the Hybrid album. The band was lead by Chester Charles Bennington, but the band broke up with Bennington’s death. The band is now being raised up with a young female singer Emily Armstrong, who just started this act of regrouping Linkin Park this September.
Chester Bennington put all emotions in his music: the high pitches, long vocal cord notes, and a strong bass with the guitars. His music touched so many people with his powerful voice and how he cared for anyone and everyone. Bennington grew up abused by friends and addicted to drugs and alcohol; he never knew how to speak up. He sadly passed away in July 20, 2017 by suicide. People say that if you listen to the music it sounds like he is crying for help.
Emily Armstrong, a 38-year-old female singer, picked up the band this September. Armstrong, like Bennington, has a strong voice. She was in multiple bands like Dead Sara in 2012. She was the lead guitarist and then moved up to lead vocalist. Armstrong participated in the try-outs held by the original band members. The purpose of the reunion is to grow the band and pay remembrance to Bennington.
Many people have a lot of thoughts when it comes to Armstrong being the new singer. Some people say that she is replacing Bennington, others say he would be proud because they are continuing and growing. Some say Armstrong doesn’t live up to the expectations of the fans, while others think her voice is just like his. She fits perfectly in her lead spot, and she takes things seriously when it comes to singing his songs.
“When I am writing, I’m constantly thinking about myself, because it’s the only experience I have to draw on. I don’t see an exact reflection of myself in every face in the audience, but I know that my songs have validity to them, and it’s why the fans are there,”said Chester Bennington (Brainyquote).
