Across the world, there are thousands of different fast food restaurants; only a few of these rank at the top of my list. Not only do these restaurants have the best food, drinks, and desserts, their quality of service stands out. Many fast food establishments, specifically in Danville, lack the main characteristic of true fast food restaurants: convenience. If I have to sit in the drive-thru for 30 minutes, I do not feel I am gaining anything by eating fast food. Quality of food and service and overall convenience makes the following fast food places my top choices.
#1: Chipotle
Chipotle is a Tex-Mex restaurant that is located near the Danville Mall on Piedmont Drive. The service at Chipotle in Danville is some of the best I have experienced at fast food restaurants. For the most part, the employees are always kind and respectful, and I can get my food in under 5 minutes. Not only is their food service quick, their food is always fresh. I recall going in multiple times and watching them cooking the chicken on the stove. Although there is no drive-thru, it is most definitely fast food. Contrary to many fast food restaurants, the quality and flavor of Chipotle’s food is unmatched.
#2: Chick-Fil-A
Chick-Fil-A is a top rated fast food establishment in North America, and I can completely understand why. In Danville, there is a stand-alone one located on Riverside Drive and one inside the Danville Mall. At Chick-Fil-A, the moment you walk in or pull into the drive-thru, you are greeted with a friendly smile. Not only are the employees friendly, the establishment is Christian-based, which allows employees to have Sundays off of work. The service at Chick-Fil-A only scratches the surface. Their food is amazing, and they have the best chicken nuggets and sandwiches out of any restaurant. My only complaint is that they are quite pricey; however, the food is too good to turn down.
#3: Taco Bell
Although I feel it is an unpopular opinion, I find Taco Bell to be one of the best fast food restaurants ever. However, they are lacking in the service department. I have experienced unfriendly workers here, but I enjoy the food too much to stop purchasing from there. Some of my all-time favorite items on the menu are from their cantina chicken menu. Many people may say that their food is not very good, but I couldn’t disagree more. On a day that I am craving fast food, it is typically Taco Bell. While I don’t always like to indulge, it is often difficult not to!
#4: Cookout
Cookout is a fast food restaurant that has many different options. They have burgers, hot dogs, corn dogs, quesadillas, and the best milkshakes of all time! They have so many varieties of flavors, and I think they are the perfect consistency. Personally, I am not a huge fan of most fast food burgers, so I am not sure how those are, but I do know that they have great quesadillas, and the prices are very reasonable. While the service here is not quite up to par, I very much enjoy their food and desserts, so I will definitely continue going to Cookout on Riverside Drive!
#5: KFC
Although I do not eat from KFC very often, the food I have gotten from here has been very good! I can say for certain that this isn’t my favorite fast food, but it is definitely towards the top of my list. Some of my favorite items from their menu are their Famous Bowl and also their saucy chicken nuggets. The Famous Bowl gives you a taste of many different items from KFC, like mashed potatoes, gravy, chicken bites, and corn. In addition, their saucy nuggets have very flavorful sauce choices and are a delight to eat. I would definitely recommend trying these. In my past experience, the service at Danville locations can often be slow; however, the employees have always been very kind.
In my personal opinion, Chipotle will always be the best fast food restaurant; however, there are many others that can compete for my #1 favorite. Even though I love these fast food restaurants, I do not enjoy many other very popular establishments such as McDonalds, Hardees, Burger King, etc. I am yet to find food from said places that I actually find appetizing, but I am in no way judging other’s opinions. Personally, my top 5 favorite fast food restaurants are the ultimate best, but I do understand that my opinion is not applicable to everyone.
