30-year-old American singer/songwriter Phoebe Bridgers began her career when she was just 17 years old. Phoebe Bridgers was born and raised in Pasadena, California, near Los Angeles. She attended public schools during elementary and middle school, then studied vocal jazz at Los Angeles County High School. After Bridgers graduated, she spent as much of her time enjoying life as she could. During an interview with LA Phil, Bridgers says, “I don’t necessarily try to reference it, but I’m pulling from experience it just appears.” Over the years. Bridgers found herself being part of various bands and would often perform solo shows in and around Los Angeles.
Bridgers had the opportunity of meeting musical producer Ryan Adams through a mutual collaborator, Harrison Whitford. Her first studio album, Stranger in the Alps, was released on September 22, 2017. This tracklist consists of 10 songs in the “indie rock/indie folk” genre and lasts a total of 44 minutes and 15 seconds. The album includes hit songs such as “Motion Sickness” and “Scott Street.” Her second album, Punisher, was released on June 18, 2020, just three years after her first. The album has a total of 11 songs and lasts about 40 minutes and 30 seconds. This album contains many fan favorites, one of which being “I Know the End.”
While releasing her own music, Phoebe Bridgers is also a part of the band, Boygenius. This band includes members Julien Baker, Lucy Dacus, and Bridgers herself. They released their first album, The Record, on March 31, 2023. Also being in the “indie rock/indie folk” genre, the album has a total of 12 songs lasting 42 minutes and 13 seconds altogether. The most popular song on this album is “Not Strong Enough” which is widely loved by many people.
As far as touring goes, Phoebe Bridgers is no stranger to the stage. This past year, Bridgers performed as an opening act for Taylor Swifts, The Eras Tour. Prior to this, she was an opener for the Music for Cars tour for the band 1975. On her own, she has been touring since 2017 when she released her first album. The most recent tour she has done was The Tour with Boygenius in 2023.
