Chick-fil-A is a well-known and loved restaurant. It all started when Truett Cathy created the signature chicken sandwich at his diner in Georgia. It skyrocketed from there, and now Chick-fil-A is one of the best-quality fast food restaurants. One of Chick-fil-A’s best qualities is its service, which starts with its workers.
Many Tunstall students work at Chick-fil-A, including Kyndal Burke, Jordyn Powell, and Chloe Jones. There are also workers who have graduated from Tunstall who work at Chick-fil-A, such as Sam Salcedo.
Jordyn Powell is a student who recently joined Chick-fil-A. She started working there about two months ago, right before school started. She works in the front at the register, but her favorite position is mobile drinks. Her favorite part of the job is the food, and her favorite item on the menu is the classic chicken sandwich.
Another student at Tunstall who works at Chick-fil-A is Kyndal Burke. She started six months ago, at the beginning of summer. At Chick-fil-A, she serves guests and makes drinks. Her favorite position is also mobile drinks because it’s simple. She also likes running food out to the cars. Her favorite part of the job is the environment and the managers. Her favorite item on the menu is the nuggets; she gets every time she works. “I like working with people from school because I always have someone to talk to,” said Burke.
Chloe Jones is another student who recently started working at Chick-fil-A. She’s been working at Chick-fil-A for about three months now. She works in the back, but she would love to be cross-trained. In the back, she is either working on fries or nuggets; her favorite position is nuggets because it’s easy to keep up with. “I would like to do other things in the back, but it gets hard to let people try new things when we’re busy,” said Jones. It’s comforting for her to work with people she knows from school. Her favorite part about working at Chick-fil-A is the people because it’s like a family and the people are really funny. Jones’s favorite food item is the cold grilled chicken that goes on the salad. She thinks it is underrated, and more people should try it.
Sam Salcedo is a former student who works at Chick-fil-A; she graduated in 2024. She has been working at Chick-fil-A for about two years. She likes working at Chick-fil-A but says it can get stressful at times. Salcedo is cross-trained which means she is trained in the front and the back. She started in the front and then was moved to the back. Her favorite position in the front is the register because she gets to talk to customers and it’s simple. Her favorite position in the back is screens, which is making sandwiches, because it’s consistent and makes the day go by faster. She prefers to work in the front over the back because it’s not as stressful for her. Her favorite part of Chick-fil-A is the people, making friends, and being off on Sundays.
Overall, working with people you go to school with is a unique but fun experience.
