The Eagles are an American rock band established in Los Angeles in 1971. They have five number-one singles, six number-one albums, six Grammy awards, and five American music awards. The Eagles are one of the most popular rock bands to date and were among the top five American rock bands in the 1970s.
The original members of the Eagles were Randy Meisner, Bernie Leadon, Don Henley, and Glenn Frey. They named their band the Eagles after a drug-filled trip during which Glenn Frey saw an eagle fly close by.
The Eagles were signed onto the music label Asylum Records, and they immediately took off and soared. Their first official song was “Take It Easy,” which was released on May 1st, 1972. The Eagles went on to make many more songs and albums, which were consistently popular. These songs include “Witchy Woman,” “Hotel California,” “I Can’t Tell You Why,” “Desperado,” “One Of These Nights,” and many more. The Eagles recently started their last, final tour and named it “The Long Goodbye” as the Eagles plan on retiring in 2025. Don Heely announced they are touring with Steely Dan for their final round.
