“I’ve been waiting for this for two months,” said freshman varsity player, Lauren Goins.

Thursday, March 12, the winter sports’ banquet was held to recognize junior varsity and varsity basketball players and the cheerleaders.

The evening started off with dinner for the boys’ and girls’ teams. Their family members and friends were invited, as well.

Afterwards, awards were given out by Coach Lee, Coach Harris, Coach Price, and Coach Pyrtle. Players received individual awards based on their performance through out the season.

Goins earned her letter since she competed in varsity this year. Seniors Dominique Mulero, Bri Carter, Aalyiah Totten, and Tayanna Lee were awarded with certificates and pins.

The event’s purpose was to thank players for their hard work and effort while motivating them for the next time they’re back on the court.

“I’m really excited. We had an awesome season and I’m looking forward to the upcoming year.”
