Dancing With the Stars returns
It’s back! The wait is over for all the eager fans anxious for Season 20.
Dancing With the Stars premiered March 15 on ABC. The new cast includes Noah Galloway, Robert Herjavec, Patti LaBelle, Nastia Liukin, Riker Lynch, Charlotte McKinney, RedFoo, Michael Sam, Willow Shields, Suzanne Somers, Chris Soules, and Rumer Willis.
Along with the drama, this season also has some twists.
Professional dancer, Shanua Burgess, is partnered with U.S. veteran, Noah Galloway. This partnership proposes a new challenge since Galloway lacks a left arm and left leg. However, they made it work and were praised for their cha-cha on Monday night.
Judge Carrie Anne Inaba called their dance “profound” and explained how it changed her view on what dance is. She even shed a few tears in admiration of this unique duo.
The professional dancer cast is also different this season, as well. The well-loved Karina Smirnoff and Cheryl Burke did not return much to fans’ disappointment. However, the rumors about Derek Hough not coming back were proven to be false.
29-year-old Derek Hough has taken home the mirror ball trophy five times in the past. Outside of the show, he travels with his sister and judge, Julianne Hough. He thought he wouldn’t have enough practice time this season since he is a part of the “New York Spring Spectacular.” After talking to the producers, Hough worked out his schedule so he could compete. His partner is Olympic medalist, Nastia Liukin.
A viewer can also find Bachelor star, Chris Soules dancing the night away. His show’s finale was played exactly a week before Dancing With the Stars kicked off. Soules is paired with Season 19 winner, Witney Carson who ironically has the same first name of his fiancée, Witney Bischoff. Rumors have it that the partnership is making Bischoff jealous and even causing relationship problems. However, she insists that it’s not, but viewers still believe otherwise.
So what’s ahead for this season? Viewers can expect Disney night soon, incredible dances, competiveness, and the ever-present drama. Only time will tell who will survive and take home the beloved mirror ball trophy.
