Ms. Carter taking on Business and Marketing
This is Ms. Michelle Carter’s first year teaching at Tunstall High School. She has taken over Mr. Dillow’s old room where she teaches Economics and Personal Finance and Marketing. Marketing is nothing new for Ms. Carter.
“I have a background in Business and Marketing. I owned my own business before I was a teacher,” said Carter.
She has first hand experience when it comes to running business. However, teaching business isn’t her only activity.
“I enjoy spending time with people I love. I also enjoy graphic arts and I volunteer for the city concert series,” said Carter.
Ms. Carter moved here from Daytona Beach, Florida, when she was 12 years old. She graduated from George Washington High School. She later attended Averette University where she earned her Bachelors degree in Business Administration.
Ms. Carter started teaching when her sister led her to it.
“My sister is Mrs. Hendrix. She thought I would love teaching and I do,” said Carter.
Ms. Carter’s best experience here is completely centered around her students.
She enjoys “building relationships with students. I am always honored to be asked to write recommendations for students,” said Carter.
None the less, her goals for the year also depend on her students.
She hopes “to make a positive impact on my students,” said Carter.
Ms. Carter’s family had an impact in choosing this school for teaching.
“My nephews Jess and Noah Hendrix graduated from Tunstall. I have supported Tunstall for many years and knew it was an excellent school with and excellent staff,” said Carter.
