Tunstall and G.W. at a standstill
The Varsity Girls Soccer team faced George Washington High School on April 22.
The lady Trojans held up their own against the Eagles for 90 minutes of regulation with no goals for either team. After 30 minutes of overtime, the game still stood at a standstill.
“I think we could have pressured the ball more. We couldn’t finish our shots. Ultimately, we held our own. We didn’t let G.W. get on the scoreboard,” said senior Lauren Ritch.
Even though the score was 0-0, the team still took home a district point because Tunstall is a bigger school.
“They’re one of our biggest rivals. We played really hard, even though the score wasn’t what we wanted it to be. I’m looking forward to our next game with them to hopefully take home another win,” said senior Anna Wright.
This was the lady Trojans first time playing G.W. this season.
The team lost at G.W. their first game last season, but came back with a win the second time playing their rival.
Due to the heavy rain throughout the season, there will be no District Tournament this year.
