“Psychological Thriller”was psychologically exhausting
After all the hype of the newest science fiction psychological thriller film 10 Cloverfield Lane, it wasn’t exactly what I had hoped for.
After surviving a car accident, Michelle (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) wakes up to find herself in an underground bunker with two men.
A mysterious man named Howard has supposedly saved her life. He updates her on the details since her crash.
Howard tells her that a massive chemical attack has rendered the air as unbreathable, and their only hope of survival is to remain in the underground bunker.
Even with the comforts of home, Howard’s controlling and menacing nature makes Michelle uneasy. When she takes matters into her own hands, she finally discovers the truth about the outside world.
Before its release, the previews showed a film that with a lot of action, suspense, and with a mysterious essence; after experiencing 10 Cloverfield Lane, I was utterly unimpressed. The previews had me on the edge of my seat more than the actual movie. After being labeled a “psychological thriller”, it really wasn’t that thrilling to watch.
I would not recommend 10 Cloverfield Lane for anyone. It isn’t worth the money or the hour and forty-five minutes to watch it.
