Love conquers all at Averett in Once on this Island

Averett’s production of “Once on this Island” is a chill-producing play with themes of love and death matched by passionate singing and a captivating setting.

The play was about a peasant, orphan island girl named Ti Moune who sacrifices everything for love. Even if that means her own life. It is a fighting battle over love and death with a wild twist an the end that was very symbolic.

The production was very outstanding and well-written. The actors and actresses were enthusiastic about telling us the wonderful story of Ti Moune. Those actors and actresses in particular include Chelsea Lavinder as Ti Moune, Andrew Cannon as Daniel Beauxhomme, Anna Timm as Little Ti Moune, and all the storytellers. There are many talented students at Averett and they gave it their all on opening night. The setting and costumes also really set off the theme very well throughout the whole play.

I would recommend this to anyone who loves play productions as much as I do. I was throughly impressed and pleased on how well it went. The play ran at Averett from April 14-17.
