Sharing their faith: Locker style

One walking down the halls of Tunstall may notice lockers covered with index cards. Written on these index cards are encouraging Bible verses. Seniors Meghan Blair, Cassidy Bowles, Savannah Dalton, and some others have decided to share their faith in an unique way.

They began doing this earlier in the year.

“I wanted to do this to be a source of encouragement. I feel like Christians don’t get to say how they feel all the time, so I wanted it to be made known,” said Bowles.

Dalton would place a new verse on her locker every day. She had about a month’s worth until someone tore them all down.

“Well, I saw it on Meghan’s locker first and the first thing I thought was ‘Wow, that is amazing and such a lovely opportunity to be a witness.’ I had never thought about it before and she really sparked the idea in my mind. She took a step out and God used her and then it was like a domino effect,” said Dalton.

Despite some negative responses from other students, this hasn’t stopped Blair and Bowles from sharing their faith.

“Every day the verses get torn down. I hope they know we have a whole stack and we’re just going to replace them,” commented Bowles.lockers

Blair added, “We just keep going and put another one up.”

They plan to continue doing this up until graduation. They want others to be encouraged and impacted by putting up these verses.

“Through doing this, we want people to know there’s something different about Christians,” said Bowles.

“Yeah, we‘re not like everybody else. We want to stand out and hopefully others will want to, as well,” added Blair.
