Containment: Spreading unsolvable mystery
The CW’s new limited series “containment” premiered this past April 19, launching a story based on the original Belgian series “Cordon”, created by Carl Joos. The 13- episode series, is produced by My So-Called Company in association with Warner Bros. Television, with executive producers Julie Plec (The Vampire Diaries, The Originals) and David Nutter (The Flash, Arrow).
Containment is about a virus-spread, with an unknown source. The sudden widespread forces the federal and state officials to pit part of the Atlanta city in quarantine, separating people from their loved ones. While everyone is struggling to protect themselves, others are dying and being experimented on. Public trust disintegrates, as Leo, a journalist, chases down a conspiracy that unravels the story.
Containment stars Chris Wood (The Vampire Diaries); David Gyasi (Interstellar); Christina Moses (Starship: Apocalypse, Starship: Rising); Kristen Gutoskie (Beaver Falls); Claudia Black (The Originals, Farscape); George Young (Casualty); Hanna Mangan Lawrence (Spartacus: War of the Damned); and Trevor St. John (One Life to Live).
If you are into the whole, Outbreak, civil-unrest-end-of-days type of shows, this is great for you. Two episodes in and I was already hooked. The characters are well-written and I find myself already feeling for the victims and the scale of the outbreak. Hints from episode one will show that the majority of the story will carry on after the control is lost. The “road-map” of how to contain (or not) the outbreak sets the pace for things to come.
Find the last episodes at cwtc.com or catch the next episode Tuesday 17th on channel 5 at 9 p.m. after The Flash.
