Mr. Lumpkins
There are numerous new teachers here at THS for the 2016-2017 school year. One of the new recruits is Mr. Lumpkins who resides in room A209. He teaches Algebra 2 and geometry which he is only temporarily taking over until a permanent replacement is found.
Mr. Lumpkins has a masters in administration from Longwood University, which he put to good use as Assistant Principal at Chatham for 12 years. Prior to being in his position in administration, Lumpkins taught for 18 years in Pittsylvania County. His favorite aspect of working at Tunstall is being able to say that he has worked at all 4 high schools in the county.
Outside of teaching, he enjoys spending time with his family and hiking. He even hopes to hike the Appalachian Mountains in the spring. He loves teaching and watching students succeed, which has been his motivation for all his years of teaching.
