Class officers elected for the upcoming year

The election for class officers will be held on Friday, Sept. 9. The Junior candidates, Blake Mitchell and Jacob Keatts, gave their speeches Thursday morning, Sept. 8.

Mitchell said if elected, he would bring back the homecoming dances, make the parking passes cheaper, and would arrange to have a blackout football game.

Keatts said if elected, he would let the students decide what the theme for prom and that he would be very involved because he loves THS. jacob-keattsAnna Brooks

“A vote for me is a vote for Tunstall,” Keatts said.

The senior presidential candidates, Sarah Goard and Jacob Lee, gave their speeches on Thursday afternoon.

Goard said if elected, she will to talk to Mr. Boles about leaving a “time capsule.” If approved, the senior class will leave an unserviced IPhone with pictures, videos, and music that are popular to the year 2017. It will be buried under the Trojan sign at the front of the school.

“I plan to attend college for 4 years to become an event planner, so I will have the capability to plan the class reunion in 2027,”  Goard said.

Lee said if elected, he knows he will not see himself as better than anyone else based off of his position.

The Vice Presidential candiates for the senior class, Sydney Liles and Rebecca Jones, gave their speeches Thursday afternoon.

“I want to be your voice to ensure that your ideas are heard,” Liles said.

“I will do whatever it takes to make senior year the best year yet,” Jones said.

The senior Secretary candidates, Rebecca Mitchell and Mackenzie Taylor, gave their speeches Thursday afternoon.

“I believe you should vote for me because of my open mind, leadership experience, and helpful nature,” Mitchell said.

This years junior class officers are:

  • Reporter- Jordan Sergeant
  • Treasurer- Blake Mitchell
  • Secretary- Kaitlyn Brinkley
  • Vice President- Lauren Jackson
  • President- Jacob Keatts

This years senior class officers are:

  • Reporter- Lacey Kirby and Maggie Wells
  • Treasurer- Ben Donahue
  • Parliamentary- Hunter Pyron
  • Secretary- Rebecca Mitchell
  • Vice President- Rebecca Jones
  • President- Sarah Goard
