“I had a friend who, when we started hanging out, found a guitar that my dad had and he started playing this song that I knew and I decided I wanted to play. That was when I was 12. When you start playing guitar, your fingers bleed and after doing TCE (Tunstall Concert Ensemble). I could put my hands, my fingers, on a stove and it doesn’t hurt. I remember one year we were doing this show that was about all the other shows we’d ever done. We were sitting in Dayton and we played the ballad and Tim [Bray] just cried and it was just the most crazy thing because he’s always there and he’s always in charge and he just kinda fell apart.”
