Older show appealing to a younger audience

The show is filmed at Prospect Studio in Los Feliz, California.

“Pick me, choose me, love me.”

Teenagers everywhere were instantly hooked on Grey’s Anatomy as soon as those words came flowing off of Meredith Grey’s lips. The 13-season show has every aspect that teens adore: love, drama, and emotions.

Grey’s Anatomy first aired in 2005. Most teens were too young to even watch it, nonetheless understand any of it. As teens grew up and discovered Netflix, Grey’s Anatomy became very popular through binge watching. Even though there are a total of 12 seasons on Netflix today, it doesn’t take long for teens to watch them all. They watch an episode, sit on the edge of their seats when it ends, and start all over again until suddenly there’s no more seasons left.

Meredith Grey is the most relatable character on the show because of the fact she falls in love and gets her heart broken, which everyone has experienced at least once in their lifetime. The man who broke her heart does come back begging for forgiveness, though.

The show starts out with Meredith meeting a guy in a bar, whom turns out to be Derek Shepard, one of her bosses at Seattle Grace Hospital. They fall in love, of course, but not without the usual drama that keeps teens hooked. Along the way, viewers discover Meredith’s secrets, feelings, and family problems, which makes them watch more episodes in order to find out what happens. Teens then become attached to the characters, which makes them feel what those characters feel.

In the season airing on TV right now, Alex Karev, one of the few original cast members still on the show, faces many difficulties. He and Meredith have a very close relationship, so she sticks up for him and helps him figure out how to fix the problems he is facing.

Despite the fact that teenagers were too young to watch this show once, they are now making up for lost time. Plus, they get to learn medical procedures that will likely never have to be used, but hey, it doesn’t hurt to pretend.

Scalpel anyone?
