Looking on the technical side of Bobby Clowers
October 13, 2016
Bobby Clowers is ‘The Man’ that keeps the physical and technological aspect of Tunstall running. During his full day shifts, Clowers travels from our school, to Brosville, Stony Mill, and Twin Springs; fixing essentially any issue regarding computers, smart boards, printers, cables, and projectors.
Clowers worked for Pittsylvania County Schools before even graduating high school, through a summer program that allowed him to intern in the IT Department. He attended the Career and Technical Center and was immediately interested in the program, so he further developed his skills by interning as well as attending classes at DCC. He eventually receivied full time employment, as an Area Network Specialist, for Pittsylvania County Schools in 2004.
Clowers seems to sneak in and out most of the day, unnoticed, but who is he really?
Traveling between schools every day, he explains that his favorite aspect is “the people I work with.” Not only is he a hard working individual, but he is also a sentimental individual as well; being passionate about family. He spends a lot of his time playing video games or playing sports with his son, while spending the rest of his time attending New Beginning Church or playing on his co-ed softball team at Southside Park in Martinsville. He played football for THS, as a defensive tackle, for three years before finally receiving an injury that did not allow him to play further.
Bobby Clowers is the individual that someone can call not only for a work order. He’s calm, easy to talk to, and overall a nice individual that will greet anyone with a smile. He’s grateful for what he does, and, honestly, he’s the individual that is the gear and heart of our school.
