Imagine the way you feel when you watch a frightening Halloween movie. The victim slowly walks through an old house, stepping on creaky floorboards in the middle of a dark, eerie night. Ghostly, demonic figures appear, supernatural events occur, a macabre, nightmarish scene takes place and all you wanna do is scream! If you would like to experience a chilling, thrilling, spooky night, then visit one of these haunted houses and trails.
Scaremare
- What is it: A 40 minute experience hosted by Liberty University entailing scary woods, trails, and a house while presenting the answer to the question, “What happens after I die?”
- When: October 27-29, opening at 7:30 PM with gates closing at 11 PM
- Where: 2300 Carroll Ave. Lynchburg, VA. 24501
- Tickets: $10 per person cash only; $5 Thursday night for military personnel and college students
43 Nightmares
- What is it: Embark on a journey through the “Silent Acres Asylum” and head off into the trails all at your own pace.
- When: October 28, 29, & 31, open 7 PM- 10:30 PM
- Where: 1955 Birch Creek Rd. Keeling, VA. 24566
- Tickets: General Admission- $15, Fast Pass- $25 (cheaper prices offered online)
Blairs Volunteer Fire and Rescue 2016 Haunted House & Spook Trail
- What is it: The local fire department hosts their 28th annual haunted house and spook trail; offers free parking and concessions.
- When: October 28,29, & 31
- Where: 7100 US Highway 29 Blairs, VA. 24527
- Tickets: $10 adults, $7 children
Woods of Terror
- What is it: This is known as an intense and horrifying haunted house and trail featuring 15 different attractions such as Arachnophobia, Blackout Terror, Blackbeard’s Revenge, The Blood House, and many more.
- When: Thursday Oct. 27- Saturday Nov. 5
- Where: 5601 N Church St. Greensboro, NC. 27455
- Tickets: Parking $5; ticket prices vary from $28-$47
Owen’s Farm
- What is it: Join Owen’s Farm for Fall Weekend Activities including: hayrides, pony rides, barnyard and friends, play area, corn maze, pumpkin picking patches, and concessions.
- When: Saturdays 10AM-5PM, Sundays 2PM- 6PM, the market and pumpkin patch will be open daily 9AM-6PM

- Tickets: $7 adults, $12 children 5 and up, $8 ages 2-4, $4 children under 2 for pumpkin and pony ride
