Do-It-Yourself gifts to make Christmas time a little less stressful
Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year, but it’s also the most stressful. Figuring out what to get your family, friends, and even your boyfriend or girlfriend can be extremely hard. You continue to think about what to get them until you have run out of time.
Here are five cheap and easy-to-create gift ideas for all you procrastinators out there.
1.) For your ‘mistletoes:‘ For this gift, all you need is a goody bag. Fill it with a pair of cute Christmas socks and nail polish to keep the gift receiver’s toes warm and painted during the Christmas season. Tie the goody bag off with ribbon and write “for your mistletoes” on the tag and you’re all done!
2.) Christmas Sharpie mugs: For this gift, buy a plain mug and sharpies/paint pens. You can draw a Christmas design on the mug such as a Christmas tree, snowman, or candy cane. After you’ve completed your design, let the markers dry and put the mug in the oven at 350 degrees, so it’s able to be washed without messing up the ink. You can add a hot chocolate packet and marshmallows to finish it.
3.) Chocolate Sleigh: Everyone needs chocolate in their life, especially after the stressful holiday season. To make this sleigh, you will need a king sized chocolate bar of your choice and mini chocolates. Lay the chocolate bar flat and glue candy canes to the side. Then, stack the smallest mini chocolates on top to create the sides of the sleigh. Tie a red ribbon around your creation not only for a festive look, but to ensure the sleigh will stay together.
4.) “Some people are worth melting for” ornament: The main item required for this gift is a clear ornament. Then, fill up a third of the ornament with fake snow (white sand). Add mini black pom-poms, cut out paper stick arms and an orange carrot nose. After putting those things on top of the fake snow, write Olaf’s famous quote on the front. It’ll melt your friend’s heart.
5.) Christmas frame: All you need for this gift is a plain picture frame. Decorate it with Christmas stickers or colored markers. Then, choose your favorite photo of you and the gift receiver. Everyone loves a tangible memory.
Merry Christmas (and thank you, Pinterest)!
